Women's Community Clinic to receive TenderChamp Award
On April 2, the Central City Hospitality House will honor the Women's Community Clinic with the TenderChamp Award
The TenderChamp Awards were first presented in 1987 by The Tenderloin Times, a Pulitzer Prize nominated neighborhood publication of Central City Hospitality House. The TenderChamp Awards recognize grass-roots community leadership for those making a difference in the lives of poor, homeless, and other marginalized people in San Francisco. Each year, a TenderChamp Award is presented to one individual, one organization, and one advocate.
The 2008 recipients are Jennifer Friedenbach, Executive Director, Coalition on Homelessness; Barbara Garcia, Director of Community Health Programs, Department of Public Health; and the Women's Community Clinic.
The awards will be presented at the Central City Hospitality House benefit "The Funniest Celebrity in the Bay Area Contest" on April 2, 2008.
