Women's Community Clinic Will Relocate in Spring 2008
SAN FRANCISCO - SAN FRANCISCO - The Women's Community Clinic, the only free clinic for women in San Francisco, will relocate to a new building next year. The larger, more contemporary facility at 1833 Fillmore Street (between Bush and Sutter), is the former site of Bayspring Medical Center. The new Clinic will be approximately 6500 square feet - over three times the size of the current Hayes Street space. The Clinic staff hopes to move into the new space and be fully operational by March 2009.
"This relocation is hugely symbolic for the Clinic, since it indicates a new phase in our history and growth," said Carlina Hansen, Executive Director of the Clinic. "The new facility will allow us to treat more clients, offer more services, train more health care providers, and firmly establish our place in the San Francisco health care community."
Plans for renovations and re-licensing are already underway and the Clinic will be launching a Capital Campaign in the coming weeks. Until further notice, the Clinic will continue to see clients at the Hayes Street facility.
