On Friday, June 6th, thirteen Twitter employees joined us at the Clinic for their semi-annual day of volunteerism, #FridayforGood. The Clinic was among more than 50 San Francisco organizations that hosted a work group that day, and Twitter reports that 900 of their employees- that’s nearly 1/3 of their worldwide staff – participated in some volunteer project across the globe.

After a short tour of the Clinic and a quick screening of our video, the volunteer group supported Britt Creech with Outreach program materials. Specifically, they assembled hundreds of “works kits”, assembly-line style. The Clinic does Outreach to homeless and marginally housed women in the Mission three nights a week, during which we distribute dozens of safer-drug use kits as part of our harm reduction philosophy. Assembling the works kits led to a great discussion about harm-reduction philosophy, housing issues, and the Clinic’s methods for battling both.

And of course, the project helped us stock up hundreds of works kits for the coming months!
